First Amendment

Congress shall make no law adopting a religion as an official of the State or prohibiting its free practice, or abridged freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people to peacefully assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.

 

Rights Contained in First Amendment:

  • Freedom of religion

  • Freedom of expression

  • Right of peaceful association

  • Right to request redress of grievances
